None of us want money for money’s sake.  We work and save, fix and paint in order to have what money and possessions promise us – food, clothing, shelter, security, and comfort.  We labor and toil to make sure we and the people we care about have the basic necessities of life.  What if there were a better way?

Jesus points us to ravens and lilies.  He asks us to think about these parts of God’s creation which aren’t nearly as important as we are and live a much shorter life.  Yet our Father in heaven makes sure they have everything they need.  If he takes care of them, won’t he take care of us? And if he takes care of us, why do we get so worked up chasing what God promises to give?  Maybe our quality of life would be so much better if we stopped focusing on getting and focused instead on God giving?

Just a few thoughts we’ll explore as our God feeds our faith this morning with his promises and wisdom.
